Prison Healthcare Assistant Pay Rate: £15.51 - £20.51 per hour (assignment rate)

Shift Pattern:

Duties:
- Support the provision of a high standard of health care to patients in prison under the guidance of the Senior Clinical Team and Head of Health Care
- Administer medication under a patient-specific direction with the supervision of a registered healthcare professional
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of patients with specified long-term conditions by providing quality evidence-based care
- Working shifts that involve Constant Watch of patients that require 24/7 supervision due to risk or self-harm and other physical/mental health conditions
- Assist with clerical and administrative duties as required
- Ensure privacy and dignity are maintained
- Support the promotion of health and wellbeing of clients
- Undertake clinical interventions as delegated by a senior team member
Requirements of the Prison Healthcare Assistant:
- Recent experience working as an HCA, Healthcare Assistant
- PMVA required
- Prison clearance – preferred but not essential
- Aware of and act upon, where necessary, the procedures in place to protect vulnerable individuals
