The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapy Manager job is £38,934 - £46,719 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • To be responsible for and manage a caseload, ensuring casework is carried out in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • To liaise and work closely with Reablement care providers, providing up to date goal plans and feedback.
  • To assess for and implement timely moving and handling plans- incorporating Smarter Care Provision.
  • To undertake duty OT role on a rotational basis- this includes responding to emergency visits and cover for allocated cases.
  • Facilitate and assist hospital discharge back home by working in line with the discharge to assess model.
  • To liaise and work on joint goals with other therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, progressing to maximum independence
  • To devise and facilitate support plan and to transfer to long term care.
  • Assess and adjust the environment to suit the individual’s needs by recommending and ordering appropriate and cost-effective equipment within the home, in accordance with relevant Occupational Therapy policies and procedures.
  • To demonstrate and instruct the service user and their family or carers in the correct use and maintenance of equipment provided
  • To identify possible safeguarding enquiries and concerns, to work alongside safeguarding adults investigating officer
  • To manage a varied case load with a range of complexity of needs, utilising supervision and guidance form senior staff. To successfully monitor, evaluate and review occupational therapy and treatment interventions within a multidisciplinary framework and to modify as necessary taking on a care management role and to manage clinical risk
  • To maintain concise and accurate records of assessments, interventions and other contacts with individuals, relatives & other professionals in accordance with departmental and professional policies are recorded and maintained on IT databases within specified timeframes

Requirements of the Occupational Therapy Manager :

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Ideally have experience working in a community setting
  • Experience of working with Adults with Disabilities within the community ideally within their own homes
  • Experience of working within a Multi-Disciplinary setting
  • Experience of completing Complex Movement and Handling Assessments and Care Plans
