The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £399,455 - £42,053 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Collaborate with a diverse clientele, including elderly individuals, those with learning disabilities, physical or sensory impairments, and individuals facing mental health challenges, employing a strength-based approach.
  • Engage in frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care context, enhancing your skill set and fostering professional growth.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including moving and handling risk assessments, and implement interventions aimed at empowering clients to lead meaningful lives within their community.
  • Work closely with team members, as well as external organisations and agencies, to deliver an integrated service supporting vulnerable adults and their caregivers in community settings.
  • Perform home visits and provide support in various settings such as residential care and nursing homes to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Possession of a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrated experience in a multi-disciplinary environment within social care, healthcare, or community settings.
  • Proficiency in conducting person-centered and proportionate Occupational Therapy assessments.
  • Familiarity with utilizing moving and handling equipment, including hoists and stand aids.
  • Understanding of various medical conditions and their potential effects on individuals, caregivers, and families.
  • Knowledgeable about relevant legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act, and its practical application in social care settings.
