Sanctuary Personnel are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering person-centred care within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Relationships
- You will mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaboration with the Therapy team, nursing teams, and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team is essential.
- You'll work alongside volunteers, assistants, and students within the team, providing support and guidance.
Complexity and Accountability
- While budgetary responsibilities are not part of this role, you will contribute to controlling and minimising expenditure where appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to the duty of candour, providing information to service users and/or their representatives transparently.
- Take clinical responsibility for managing a specific caseload.
- Utilise knowledge and research to drive innovative clinical projects addressing occupational risk factors and enhancing quality of life.
- Uphold evidence-based clinical practice standards.
- Operate autonomously within professional ethical guidelines, national legal frameworks, and organisational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify service user needs and develop individualised treatment plans.
- Advocate for choice in clinical practice, actively seeking feedback to improve service user experience.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and volunteers to plan and deliver occupational therapy interventions.
- Ensure availability and upkeep of equipment within allocated resources.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with professional and charity standards, safeguarding sensitive information.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues through formal and informal teaching.
- Promote a safe working environment, prioritising service user confidentiality and occasionally undertaking additional tasks to ensure smooth service operations.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma / BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
- Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council.
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
Experience, Skills and Ability
- Proficiency in conducting OT assessments and interventions, applying clinical reasoning.
- Capability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively.
- Confident in assessing and managing risk related to occupational performance.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle complex information efficiently.
- Competent IT skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation impacting current practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster effective working relationships.
- Desirable experience in relevant settings, including practice placements.
