Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Salary: £24,000 - £26,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Sanctuary Personnel are currently seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join our client's dynamic team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage groups of children, including conducting observations, assessments, and planning for their developmental stages.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and implement suitable experiences for children, indoors and outdoors, meeting the EYFS Statutory Framework requirements.
- Work with the Nursery Manager and team to uphold the Nursery’s philosophy.
- Share responsibility for maintaining safety, security, hygiene, cleanliness, and tidiness throughout the Nursery.
- Implement policies and procedures to meet the welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework, with a focus on correct procedures for child protection concerns.
- Liaise with and support parents and families.
- Actively participate in the pastoral care of children, reporting any concerns to the Nursery Manager.
- Attend INSET sessions for whole school, Nursery training, or individual professional development.
- Wash and change children as needed.
- Maintain the high profile of the Nursery, upholding its standards at all times, both during and outside work hours.
- Be flexible within the Nursery’s working practices, including helping with domestic tasks such as food preparation and cleaning and sanitizing resources and equipment.
Other Duties:
- All staff share responsibility for student welfare and safeguarding, requiring regular safeguarding training.
- The job holder may occasionally need to undertake other duties as reasonably directed by senior management.
Person Specification:
Education and Training:
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent full and relevant qualification - Essential
- GCSE English Pass (or Level 2 equivalent qualification) - Essential
Experience:
- Experience working in an early years setting - Essential
- Experience working in a year-round setting - Desirable
Knowledge and Understanding:
- Knowledge and understanding of EYFS - Essential
- Knowledge of child-centered approaches - Essential
- Understanding of early child development - Essential
- Understanding of online platforms - Desirable
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills - Essential
