The postholder will be an integral part of the team and will be expected to take part in patient discussions, reviews etc. 

Banding/Grade: Band 5

Pay Rates: £31 per hour (assignment rate)

Job Type & Hours: Locum, 3-month contract, full time. 37.5 hours per week. 08:00 am – 16:00 pm, 10:30 am – 18:30 pm or 08:00 am – 18:30 pm. Up to 5 days out of 7.

Requirements of the Community/District Nurses:

  • RGN qualified/NMC registered with valid live pin
  • Recent UK nursing experience
  • Must have Community/District nursing experience
  • Being able to work independently in patients house yet work closely with the local team
  • Have good communication skills, to establish rapport with patients, families and staff to be able to clinically review and plan care for not only first visits but ongoing care also
  • Clinical skills needed include, wound dressings, leg dressings and if possible, compression bandaging, pressure area care, catheter care including female, male and suprapubic, injections, insulin administration and monitoring, end of life medication administration, injections and syringe drivers, PIC line care and any other care that has been reviewed action planned and education in place to support
  • Be able to recognise, escalate and support safeguarding concerns and discussion to ensure the safety of patients and staff
  • Be flexible with your daily routine and be able to support urgent patients coming onto the case load as needed in liaison with the co-ordinator
