Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a Band 6 Acute Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy services across various acute inpatient settings, including the Emergency Department, acute wards, and critical care units. As part of a rotational program with other acute band 6 Physiotherapists, you will manage a caseload of patients with diverse diagnoses and complex needs.

Reporting to the Acute Physiotherapy Team Leader and being accountable to the Acute In-reach and Onward Flow Cluster Lead, your responsibilities will include performing advanced physiotherapeutic assessments, developing individualised treatment plans, and delivering interventions autonomously. You will also act as a source of expertise on the management of medical and surgical conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to education and research programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced physiotherapeutic assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
  • Manage a caseload independently, including responsibility for a defined area of service or patient type.
  • Participate in On Call and weekend working, supporting staff in becoming on-call competent.
  • Mentor junior staff, provide regular supervision and appraisal, and support team performance management.
  • Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to enhance clinical practice.
  • Deputise for the Physiotherapy Team Leader in operational management.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy and HCPC Registration.
  • Relevant and recent experience in acute wards within NHS services.
  • Continued Professional Development including participation in research/audit.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and on-call duties.
  • Competent IT skills.
