Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Band 6 Community CAMHS Practitioner to work 37.5 hours per week based in Doncaster, within the Children & Adolescents Mental Health Service.

The pay rate for this locum Community CAMHS Practitioner role is £25.00 - £26.00 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 6-month contract.

Duties:

  • Provide clinical interventions to children and young people across Doncaster who are struggling with mental health difficulties or who are at high risk of suicide, life-threatening self-harm or other mental health issues that are deemed urgent
  • Carry a clinical caseload of children and young people utilising age-appropriate interventions and in-line with NICE Guidelines
  • Work with other clinicians in providing effective, evidence-based therapeutic care and to lead/support other clinician's with the development of care pathways
  • Provide clinical supervision to junior members of staff thus ensuring that they are complying with TRUST standards of care, record keeping and care planning
  • Deliver consultation/advice and information to all external agencies across children's universal services e.g. statutory and voluntary organisations, carers and guardians on issues pertaining to self-harm, eating disorders or mental health issues of a complex nature
  • Utilise enhance clinical practice within the CAMHS team
  • Work within the NMC, (Nursing Midwifery Council) Guidelines and abide by the relevant professional code of conduct
  • Work as a member of the CAMHS team and deliver care to a range of children, young people and families that require a CAMHS service
  • Work with children, young people (0-18), and their families, liaising with external agencies e.g. Education, Social Services and Paediatric Services
  • Adhere to child protection/safeguarding policies, recording and reporting any concerns to the appropriate agency including participating in case of conferences as required
  • Undertake regular professional development in line with the objectives agreed in the annual individual performance review and Clinical Governance
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, core groups and other multi-agency professional meetings
  • Be responsible for the adherence to policies, guidelines and protocols set out by RDASH and professional bodies
  • Participate in annual Performance Development Appraisal
  • Manage and maintain a caseload of Tier 3 cases that require Tier 3 CAMHS intervention, reporting to the Pathway Lead and Team Manager
  • Participate in service management activities via attendance at Team Meetings and any associated workstreams
  • Provide information to the Pathway Lead with regards to resources to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Develop new ideas that enable the needs of service users are addressed cost-effectively

Requirements of the Community CAMHS Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Current NMC registration with valid live pin
  • Significant NHS experience as a CAMHS Practitioner
  • Flexible and adaptable in order to respond to the diverse and demanding nature of this post
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and young people
