Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to take on a new locum opportunity based in Oldham, within the CAMHS Crisis Team.
Location: Oldham
Contract Type: Locum, 3-month contract
Pay Rate: £26 per hour (assignment rate)
Shift Pattern: Ideally 37.5 hours per week. However, Monday - Friday service within the hours of 09:00 am - 17:00 pm and flexibility of these hours would be considered.
Duties:
- Working alongside senior clinical staff you will respond rapidly to requests for assistance when a young person is presenting in crisis
- Contribute to the assessment and management of young people experiencing episodes of crisis within a clear and structured Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction framework and identify therapeutic goals to support the young person and families/carers
- Refer on to specialist in-patient services as necessary or work collaboratively with other services involved to reduce the need for inpatient care
- Develop holistic, safety and recovery focused care plans and mobilise support around the child and family to promote resilience and reduce the likelihood of future crisis episodes
- Direct work with young people will take place in clinical environments including emergency care settings and paediatric wards; community settings such as schools as well as home environments
Requirements of the Mental Health Practitioner:
- A core qualification as a mental health practitioner (qualified nurse)
- Valid NMC Registration
- Experience of completing bio-psycho-social risk assessments, safety and care planning and working within CAMHS
