Sanctuary Health are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered General Nurse - Prison to fill a full-time role based in Norwich. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The salary for this Registered Nurse job is £23,023 - £29,608 per annum.
Job Summary:
- To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of holistic care packages.
- To work within the health care team providing health promotion, assessment, treatment and evaluation of care within a secure environment.
- To work in accordance with the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and HM Prisons policies and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- To work as part of a team undertaking lead responsibilities as negotiated and agreed with Healthcare management.
- Work as a member of the health care team, performing nursing duties and providing high standard of care by acting as a role model to others.
- Participation in health education and promotion including Blood Bourne Virus (BBV) programmes, smoking cessation and support of health trainer programme.
- Undertake patient risk assessments and take appropriate professional action when the nature of behaviour, symptoms or illness is likely to lead to self-harm or injury to others.
- Help in the development of the nursing role in the care of minor illness and injury within a Prison setting.
- Attend in the event of medical emergencies or untoward incidents and assess, treat and refer as appropriate.
- Attend mandatory, in-service training and any training requirement identified through appraisal and undertake continuing professional development in line with NMC guidance.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent within Nursing (RGN trained)
- NMC registration and a valid live pin
- General Nursing Qualification - (RGN) current registration with professional body
- Ongoing, evidenced professional development
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
- Understanding of the Governance Framework
- Ability to work under pressure
