Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work in Oxford on a full-time or part time basis in an adult mental health role. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Occupational Therapist job is £20.00-£23.00 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3 -month contract.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience either pre or post qualification
  • 1-year experience in mental health
  • Works from a recovery and strengths orientated perspective withholding judgement and maintaining belief and hope in someone's potential.
  • Has the personal resources to maintain their own reliance and can tolerate high levels of expressed distress and often traumatic personal histories of the men we work with.
  • Can work in a non-judgemental way with those who misuse drugs and alcohol as part of their coping.
  • Can adapt their skills to support individuals with a diagnosis of Autism and Asperger's syndrome.
  • Understands the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and the associated core assessments (our Inpatient clinical pathway is based on MOHO).
  • Can work autonomously seeking guidance when required.
  • Feels confident in their professional assessments and can advocate for alternative perspectives within the MDT.
  • Is happy completing ADL/PADL assessments and home visits.
  • Is preferably a car driver but non- drivers will also be considered
