The salary for this permanent Acute Charge Nurse job is £41,475 - £44,648 per annum (depending on experience).

Duties:
- Work alongside a team of professionals including Ward Managers, Charge Nurses, Doctors, Support Workers, Therapist, Activity Coordinators and the Senior Management Team
- Support the team to care for patients with acute mental health needs who are admitted to us for assessment and treatment
- Act as a role model for the team, and be responsible for the development of your team
- Work with the Ward Manger to develop processes to improve patients experience as well as contribute towards the site improvement plan and quality improvement initiatives
- Cover the ward in the absence of your Ward Manager
Requirements of the Acute Charge Nurse:
- An individual who is enthusiastic, committed and passionate
- Has a professional approach and is able to contribute to the smooth running of the ward, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality care
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to successfully motivate and lead a team
- Be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach, a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to implement quality improvement initiatives
- Be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment and competence to deliver high standards of care within acute mental health nursing
- Be flexible across all shift patterns including weekends, nights and bank holidays
- Valid NMC registration
- Experience in mental health services is desired - we are happy to consider applications from RMNs and RNLDs
- Evidence of post registration continuing professional development
- Knowledge of NMC standards guidelines and professional practices
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Willing to undertake a DBS check
