Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care safely and efficiently.
  • Exhibit exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations.
  • Utilise the nursing process to develop care plans for assigned patients.
  • Act as a patient advocate, facilitating communication between the patient, their family, and the health care team.
  • Initiate and participate in patient care conferences.
  • Leverage clinical, hospital, and community resources effectively.
  • Use equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner.
  • Assign, advise, and direct support personnel as needed.
  • Assume in-charge duties as required.
  • Take responsibility for professional development through continuing education programmes, staying current with professional literature, and participating in professional organisations.

Qualifications & Registration Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification in Emergency Nursing, preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association, preferred.
  • Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • A minimum of two years of recent continuous experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department.
  • Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Essential experience in physical assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies.
