Job Purpose:

Sanctuary Personnel seek an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to bolster our client's Procurement and Distribution Team, aiding in the safe and effective distribution of vaccines across the island. Collaboration and organisational prowess are paramount in this role, as you'll work closely within a small team environment. The ideal candidate possesses keen attention to detail, coupled with a steadfast commitment to quality and precision.

Applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician and possess an Accuracy Checking Qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the secure and efficient execution of the island-wide vaccination service, including procurement, storage, and waste reduction efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure seamless vaccine distribution.
  • Conduct accurate verification of dispensed medicines and provide supervision to junior staff as needed.
  • Maintain stock levels and adhere to departmental stock control policies.
  • Address temperature deviations and manage vaccine stability.
  • Participate in dispensing and accuracy checking of medicines when required.
  • Review and update relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct stock checks to support audit procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate Pharmacy Computer systems to record patient information and stock movements accurately.
  • Engage in educational and training programmes to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to other activities within the Pharmacy Department as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • BTEC/NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Qualified Technician Checker (to National Standard).

  • Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Comprehensive rotations in hospital pharmacy, including top-ups and dispensary work.
  • Effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in conducting final accuracy checks of clinically screened medicines.
