Sanctuary Social Care has a locum vacancy for a Therapeutic Parenting Practitioner to work full-time within an Edge of Care Programme based in Medway.
The pay rate for this locum Therapeutic Parenting Practitioner role is £25 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 6-month contract.
An Award-winning programme that provides a multi-disciplinary team to deliver intensive, home-based intervention to a cohort of 40 children and young people, aged 7-16 who have been identified by the LA as being at high risk of entering care, including hard to reach adolescents that are likely to be involved with gangs, county lines, CCE, CSE.
Duties of the Therapeutic Parenting Practitioner:
- Delivering direct interventions to parents and carers.
- Address any potential barriers to a child's emotional and physical care needs and ensures that not only will they be safe, but will also thrive.
- Undertaking an in-depth assessment of the parents own emotional needs and the dynamics of the relationship with their child to help them to understand their child's internal working model.
- Developing PACE based parenting techniques.
- Using Motivational Interviewing to support referrals to other services.
- Building strong working links with adult substance misuse or mental health services to support care plans.
- Addressing dynamics between parent and child.
- Helping the parent to understand their child's internal working model, in turn supporting the child to think safely about their own emotional state.
Requirements of the Therapeutic Parenting Practitioner:
- Must be CAMHS - Band 4 or 5 qualified.
