Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the MASH & EDT Team to work full time based in Redbridge.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £61,617 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To be responsible for the management and ongoing development of services to support the Children & Families Service in delivering and improving services to children and families. This involves personally undertaking policy work, managing the effective local delivery and commissioning of services.
  • To be responsible for the management of local service development projects including developing and maintaining project timetables.
  • To be responsible for the development and maintenance of good liaison and co-operation with the local community, community groups and other agencies and non-statutory organisations.
  • To prepare and present complex reports for public law childcare court proceedings, to oversee the production of such reports to a high standard by members of the Integrated Team.
  • To prepare and write complex reports and briefing notes on operational issues for the Head of Service, tasks forces, external meetings, Council committees and Partnership Boards.
  • To develop, in conjunction with other service areas and external agencies, options to support children and their families with assessed needs.
  • To take lead responsibility for ensuring effective service delivery is achieved and that agreed performance targets are met.
  • To provide on call consultation, professional advice, and direction to team members on complex cases and professional issues when carrying out their duties and to liaise with Senior Managers on Call as appropriate.
  • To assist the Service Manager, in the undertaking of the supervision and development of individual staff to ensure that team members fulfil expectations in relation to the council’s statutory responsibilities, policies and standards and that the practice is anti-discriminatory and if required in the performance management of staff.
  • Any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of the post, as may from time to time are required.

Requirements of this Team Manager role:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Experience of working and managing within a changing environment including experience of successfully managing change in large organisations.
