Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Deputy Team Manager within the MASH Team to work full time based in Guernsey.

The salary for this permanent Deputy Team Manager  job is up to £67,925 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Support in the screening process within the MASH so new referrals are reviewed in a timely manner.
  • To facilitate Multi-Agency meetings as required with partner agencies, this will include information sharing discussions and reviews regarding Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection. This will also incorporate other multi-agency chairing responsibilities such as Child Protection Strategy Meetings.
  • Use the collected information to risk assess cases according to level of risk and need and decide the most appropriate intervention for the child’s identified needs.
  • Routinely monitor the quality and effectiveness of information sharing and professional judgement about the appropriate response to children whose needs require either early help or social work led assessment and support.
  • Provide line management and professional supervision to the Social Care Professionals within the MASH Team, in addition to performance and development activities so that staff are able to provide a good and improving quality of service.
  • Communicate and liaise with other agencies, which involves giving and receiving highly complex and sensitive information.
  • Give specialist advice to staff, which includes individual case advice, professional responsibilities guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments within the directorate and external agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
  • Deputise in the Manager’s absence to ensure the smooth tunning of the MASH service area.
  • Ensure operational, professional and management activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Produce written reports and timely verbal feedback that provides an account of operational management issues and plans, including achievements and unexpected variances to service managers.
  • Adhere to the relevant Registered Professional bodies Code of Professional Conduct.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
