Hourly Rate: £14 - £16 per hour (assignment rate)

Requirements of the Supoort Worker:

  • Recent experience within Substance Misuse, Substance Abuse, Addiction, Drug and Alcohol, Needle Exchange, or Recovery

Main Duties:

  • Support the screening and assessment process, providing access to drop in and assessments, offering advice and information to Young People, parents, family members and carers, including drugs, alcohol, and sexual health
  • Ensure risk assessments of immediate presenting needs are carried out, risk management plans are robust and regularly reviewed.
  • Provide brief health and wellbeing interventions around drug and alcohol, and sexual health, offering advice and information, signposting, or providing enhanced access to specialist services
  • Support the service user to transition to access support and support engagement with all agencies involved in their care
  • Offer screening for drugs and alcohol, DBST, pregnancy testing and support to access STI self-testing, communicating, and recording the results as appropriate
  • Co-facilitate home visits and welfare checks. Co-facilitate groups and support drop-in sessions, workshops, training, and satellites
  • Contribute to and offer support to ensure an effective care plan is in place.
  • Actively engage service users in service design, review, and development.
  • Maintain professional links with relevant organisations to ensure co-ordination of care and referral links.
  • Work closely and collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team across the service partnership and externally, providing advice and information to managers and other colleagues, through attendance at reviews, team meetings, and supervision and via telephone conversations.
  • Improve outcomes for families of service users by reducing the impact of drug and alcohol related harm on family life and promote positive family involvement in recovery.
