Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber to fill a full-time role in Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Substance Misuse Nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The pay rate for this Non-Medical Prescriber role is negotiable with the client and this role is an initial 2-month contract.

Duties:

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment / interventions and care for service users.
  • Clinically assess service user needs and plan clinical care accordingly.
  • Diagnose and manage on an individual need's basis, integrating both drug and non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan, in conjunction with the Recovery Coordinator.
  • Identify and assess suitability of service users for in-patient alcohol and opioid detoxification as appropriate.
  • Proactively review and manage treatment plans of the service user.

Requirements of the Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber:

  • Degree or equivalent in nursing/NMP
  • Current NMC registration (RGN/RMN)
  • Significant experience as a Non-Medical Prescriber
  • A nurse with extensive experience of caseload work with Drug and Alcohol misusers.
  • Experience of working clients with physical health and mental health issues alongside their substance use.
