Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in an Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team in Stockport. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £25.02 per hour (Assignment rate).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and fairly new team within Stockport Family.

The team is co-managed between by Social Care and Healthy Young Minds and offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work at the interface of these two services to children and their families.

The team consists of three full time social workers, one part time (0.5) clinical psychologist and part time social worker team leader and is co-located with the Aspire Complex Safeguarding Service; Stockport's award winning complex safeguarding team.

As part of our small and incredibly supportive team you will carry out a variety of tasks including consultations, assessments and direct intervention work with children and families.

As a team our support focuses on children in care, their carers and families.

There will be opportunity to access training across both organisations (SMBC and HYMS) with the aim that our social workers develop and increasing portfolio of clinical skills alongside their social work skills.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
  • You will have experience of working with complex safeguarding issues around children in care, excellent engagement skills and be passionate about relationship-based social work.
  • You will be a reflective practitioner who is creative and keen to effect change for the most hard to reach children and their carers.
