Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Work Senior Practitioner to work based in Garston, within the Safeguarding Team.

The salary for this permanent Social Work Senior Practitioner role is £35,745 - £39,880 per annum.

The team are committed to developing motivational social work practice, working at the forefront of best practice to deliver first class support to vulnerable children and families. The overarching vision for the Children’s Services is to work in a ‘flexible and balanced’ way with a focus on ‘continuous improvement’; this is underpinned by a ‘mix and blend’ approach by adopting hybrid ways of working, balancing the need for collaborative workspaces.

Main Duties:

  • Take the lead on the most complex cases within the department.
  • Lead less experienced staff.
  • Have a key role in researching and sharing up to date social work practice alongside creating a clear vision for the future and ensuring the best outcomes for children and their families are realised.
  • Conduct the majority of care proceedings.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of professionals in children’s and adult social work, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, substance misuse, and mental health to tackle to root causes of risks in families.
  • Have a strong focus on our model of practice – motivational interviewing.
  • Prepare and deliver welfare reports to conferences and court hearings.

Requirements of the Social Work Senior Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within frontline social work, including within a safeguarding team.
  • Have highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Recent experience of case work in Assessments, Child Protection, Children Looked After, and Care Proceedings.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
