Description:

We are seeking a Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our esteemed theatre team. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team alongside globally recognized surgeons. Our hospital, with a heritage spanning 160 years, operates as an independent charity.

This opportunity is suited for an experienced Scrub Nurse/Practitioner prepared for career advancement. The ideal candidate will exhibit dedication to high-quality service delivery and patient care, preferably with 2-3 years of experience in both NHS and Private settings. A strong work ethic and a commitment to patient-centric care are essential, as we continuously pursue excellence at our facility.

Nestled in picturesque St John’s Wood, conveniently accessible via the Jubilee line, our independent private Hospital has recently been acknowledged as the top-ranked facility nationwide for care in the latest Bupa survey. Notably, all proceeds contribute to supporting our onsite Hospice.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with recognised postgraduate theatre qualification or equivalent experience, or Registered ODP with cert HE/Diploma
  • Demonstrable continuing professional development
  • Significant post-registration skills
  • Proficiency in orthopaedics and Urology
  • Experience across a diverse range of surgeries
  • Specialized knowledge in operating theatre care
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing shifts as per departmental requirements
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota if necessary
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage setbacks, and exhibit self-awareness

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate perioperative patient care at a high level
  • Lead individual teams as a team leader to ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient list management
  • Foster teamwork within the Theatre Suite and across the hospital environment
  • Manage departmental resources effectively
  • Contribute to the education, training, and development of staff members
  • Ensure equipment is checked before use and report any faults promptly
  • Uphold infection prevention protocols and maintain a clean, aseptic working environment
