Currently, we play a crucial role in the Commissioned Rehabilitative Services (CRS) as part of the Ministry of Justice's new probation system.

Role and Team Overview:

As a Recovery Navigator within the Dependency and Recovery Services, you will be an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, working remotely in a flexible capacity across various London clusters. Your responsibilities will include supporting adult male prison leavers and individuals on community orders within the Probation services, implementing action plans, facilitating one-to-one and group sessions, and maintaining comprehensive records.

Principal Accountabilities:

Service Delivery:

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group sessions, maintaining accurate records.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Participate in key meetings and reviews, updating the Refer and Monitor system.

Performance Management:

  • Comply with service level agreements and key performance targets.
  • Manage caseload effectively, prioritising and ensuring timely interventions.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the service through proactive and solution-focused approaches.

Quality and Safety:

  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Follow all policies and maintain accurate service user records.
  • Actively participate in multi-disciplinary reviews and ensure compliance with legal and ethical responsibilities.

Administration:

  • Maintain case management documentation to audit standards.
  • Ensure accurate data capture and completion of necessary forms and reports.

Systems and Policy:

  • Efficiently use IT systems and adhere to working protocols.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation changes and best practices.

Other:

  • Undertake reasonable tasks and responsibilities as directed by Line Management.
  • Identify training needs and contribute to continued professional development.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in the criminal justice sector.
  • Excellent experience in substance misuse field or related areas.
  • Demonstrable experience managing high caseloads, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining effective case records.
  • Experience in delivering 1:1 and group interventions using motivational techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with key partners and meet targets.

Personal Attributes:

  • Proactivity, resilience, adaptability, confidence, teamwork, openness to feedback.

Qualification:

  • Level 3 substance misuse qualification or relevant experience.
  • Any qualification in advice & guidance, counseling, or PTTLLS.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a subject matter expert (SME) in specific vulnerable groups or needs.
