Pay Rates:

  • Weekdays £34.00 p/h
  • Nights/Saturdays £39.50 p/h
  • Sundays/Bank Holidays £45.00 p/h

Duties:

  • Ensure a high standard of care to patients
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the healthcare service
  • Assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of healthcare for patients
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate programmes of care to address patients present and changing health and well-being needs
  • Plan discharge and follow up care for patients leaving prison and returning to the community
  • Provide feedback to line manager and internal and external agencies
  • Responsible for the development of own knowledge and clinical practice
  • Support effective team working in the nursing team, the wider Healthcare Team and prison workforce 

Requirements of the Prison Nurses:

  • Must be registered on the NMC and must have a relevant qualification in nursing
  • Prison clearance and experience is essential
