Sanctuary Personnel, a committed and competitive recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Wards Pharmacist to work full-time based in Luton.

The pay rate for this locum Pharmacist job is £28 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an ongoing contract.

Shift Pattern:

  • 8am-1pm or 8am-2pm.
  • Part-time workers will be accepted.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out medicines reconciliations.
  • Attend MDTs.
  • Support with providing prescribing advice to prescribers.
  • Give counselling advice to patients.
  • Deliver a comprehensive medicines optimisation service to wards and teams based within the Luton and Bedfordshire directorates and when necessary to provide this service to other wards across ELFT. This is to be in line with the ELFT clinical pharmacy standards.
  • Provide dispensary cover/link pharmacy cover and to support the MMT technicians, this operational work may be within the Luton and Bedfordshire directorates.
  • Provide pharmaceutical support to the clozapine clinic(s) in Bedfordshire and Luton, screening prescriptions and liaising with the MDT as necessary.
  • Manage the supply of clozapine to in-patients and out-patient clinic. To offer support and advice to all staff participating in these procedures.
  • Work with the Lead Pharmacist to undertake audits to evaluate and improve services alongside trust and Luton and Bedfordshire priorities.
  • Work towards quality improvement initiatives in line with the trusts QI vision and with direction from the Pharmacy Services Manager.

Requirements of the Pharmacist:

  • Must be registered on the GPHC as a pharmacist.
  • Must have a relevant qualification in pharmacy.
  • Recent experience working as a pharmacist, including hospital experience (ideally at least two years).
  • Must have mental health experience.
  • Full driving licence and access to personal vehicle.
  • Good IT skills, able to use JAC, EPMA, Microsoft Teams, Excel, RIO.
