Main duties:
- Input and assist with the planning of the curriculum.
- Help to set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
- Act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and
- met.
- Advise the leader/deputy of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
- Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
- Input and attend staff meetings.
- Attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
- Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the room leader, in accordance with Childrensworld's business plan/objectives.
- Undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SENCO Officer, Training Co-ordinator, Safeguarding Officer etc.
- Support Nursery Assistants, Trainee’s and Volunteers.
Requirements for the Nursery Nurse role:
- Recent experience working as a Nursery Nurse
- Willingness to learn and undertake professional development
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development or equivalent childcare qualification
- Previous experience of working with young children.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
