Main duties:

  • Input and assist with the planning of the curriculum.
  • Help to set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
  • Act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and
  • met.
  • Advise the leader/deputy of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
  • Input and attend staff meetings.
  • Attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
  • Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the room leader, in accordance with Childrensworld's business plan/objectives.
  • Undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SENCO Officer, Training Co-ordinator, Safeguarding Officer etc.
  • Support Nursery Assistants, Trainee’s and Volunteers.

Requirements for the Nursery Nurse role:

  • Recent experience working as a Nursery Nurse
  • Willingness to learn and undertake professional development
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development or equivalent childcare qualification
  • Previous experience of working with young children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
