Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 6) to work with our client to provide rehabilitation services for clients with complex disabilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients, including children and adults with physical or learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. The role involves:

  • Managing your own caseload and being responsible for a specific area of service without direct supervision.
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation team to plan, develop, and deliver effective services.
  • Assessing clients and developing individualised treatment programmes.
  • Evaluating treatment regimes in conjunction with senior therapists.
  • Setting and monitoring short- and long-term goals for clients.
  • Assisting with casting and splinting as necessary.
  • Implementing and overseeing treatment programmes in clients’ environments, working with therapy support workers and care staff.
  • Integrating multi-disciplinary team strategies into treatment management.
  • Participating in the assessment of wheelchair seating requirements alongside the Occupational Therapy department.
  • Supporting home visits as required.
  • Staying updated on professional developments.
  • Supervising therapy support workers.
  • Training care and support staff on proper techniques for moving, handling, transfers, splints, and walking.
  • Advising session staff on creating optimal environments for client physical development.
  • Contributing to client reports for reviews and case conferences.
  • Ensuring all equipment is safe and in good order, adhering to Health & Safety regulations.
  • Participating in key therapist/worker programmes to facilitate client rehabilitation and ensure safe discharge.
  • Maintaining detailed client records and providing written assessments, referrals, and reports.

About You

  • Passionate about physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
  • Aligned with our values and behaviours.
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate experience in physical and neuro-rehabilitation, including managing dysphagia and communication/voice issues.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses, CPD, and an up-to-date professional portfolio.
