Sanctuary Personnel is currently assisting in the recruitment process for a Deputy Manager (Band 6) position within an esteemed Adult Disability Service focusing on Autism Hub support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals with learning disabilities and autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating within the Adult Disability Service to provide comprehensive support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism
  • Operating in diverse settings including residential homes, supported living, short break services, and outreach programs
  • Undertake the assessment of service users with autism and complex needs
  • Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to meet these needs
  • Guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care received by service users
  • Undertake risk assessment processes to determine risks to the health and wellbeing of service users with complex care needs, taking relevant action to minimise these risks
  • Lead a staff team in emergency situations, ensuring that the service user’s needs are met and that significant others are supported
  • Utilise information and data from a range of sources to identify service user’s needs and to guide decision-making processes

Requirements:

  • Registered Health or Social Care Professional e.g. Nurse, Speech and Language Therapist, OT, Registered Behaviour Technician or Social Worker
  • Evidence of CPD at diploma level
  • Teaching/mentoring qualification
  • Diploma in a related field
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (D32/33, NVQ A1)
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Hold a valid driving licence (this may be negotiated with the manager dependant on area
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Caring and empathetic nature
  • Good autism knowledge and/or experience
  • A good understanding of learning disabilities
  • An understanding of person centred care and support
  • An understanding of positive behavioural support
