Lead Clinical Pharmacist (30 Hours)

Salary: £34,800 per annum. Welcome Bonus Available.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Clinical Pharmacist to assume the role of Lead Clinical Pharmacist at our facilities in Middlesbrough. In this position, you will lead the development of clinical pharmacy services, contributing to effective medicines optimisation in pre-assessment, perioperative, and post-operative settings. As the Lead, collaboration with the North East Cluster Lead Pharmacist and Heads of Clinical Services is crucial for ensuring comprehensive medicines governance across both sites. Managing the established pharmacy technician and assistant in medicine procurement at our Middlesbrough facility is an integral part of this role.

This part-time position, spanning 30 hours per week, is primarily based at our Middlesbrough facility, with flexibility required for planned quality assurance visits to our Newcastle facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting clinical screening and services for various departments
  • Handling procurement, audit, patient counseling, and other associated pharmaceutical duties
  • Attendance at relevant clinical governance meetings
  • Providing advice to patients/carers and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products as required
  • Adhering to GPhC Standards of conduct, ethics, and performance
  • Supporting clinical managers in delivering effective training and competency reviews for registered staff

What You Will Bring:

  • Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
