Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for a band 2 Lab Support Worker to work based in Southampton.

The pay rate for this locum Lab Support Worker job is £13.07 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an ongoing contract.

Main Duties:

  • To receive, sort and prepare biological samples for analysis.
  • To enter information on tests required and patient/sample details onto the pathology computer system.
  • To load/unload  samples onto/from automated analytical systems.
  • To prepare worklists, locate samples from the worklists and have them ready for analysis as required.
  • To deal with incoming telephone enquiries relating to patient results. To be the initial contact point for patients and visitors to the department.
  • To prepare samples appropriately for postage to referral laboratories
  • To work flexible hours as determined by the requirements of the service.
  • To provide assistance with the department’s data processing, audits and quality management.

Requirements of the Lab Support Worker:

  • At least two years of UK experience working as a Support Worker.
