Sanctuary Executive is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Interim Assistant Director to fill a full-time role within an Adult Social Care Team in Shrewsbury.

The pay rate for this locum job is negotiable and is an initial 6-month contract.

Summary:

  • As a member of the Directorate Management Team, to support the development and delivery of the Council's vision, values and strategic objectives with a lead role on a range of directorate and corporate policies and tasks.

  • To lead, direct and transform the Adult Social care services ensuring the council's service plan in this area incorporate relevant strategies and policies to meet statutory requirements.

  • To manage an agreed budget for Adult social care ( purchasing and staffing net budget 92 million pounds) leading and directing the annual budget setting and realignment processes to meet identified priorities and ensuring the best possible financial management.

  • Provide expertise and strong management to drive performance and to commission and/or deliver the council priorities and meet service targets.

  • Advise Members and Directors in respect of operational planning and commissioning, policy matters and service delivery issues and engage with partners in the promotion, communication and delivery of services.

  • To develop and deliver joined up and integrated services to ensure that the needs of Adults with care and support needs are delivered.

Duties:

  • The budgets for Adult social care purchasing (including commissioning) and staffing budgets ( net budget 92 million)

  • The implementation of the savings strategy

  • Lead the strategic vision for Adult Social Care

  • Responsible and accountable for the effectiveness, availability and value for money of Adult Social Care

  • To ensure that regulatory and performance targets are met.

  • Work with and influence health partners to ensure the vision for Adult social care is delivered

  • To work in accordance with Safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience

  • A relevant Professional Qualification

  • A Leadership or Management Qualification (e.g. MBA or Management Charter Initiative Level 4/5)
