Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Rochester for a Social Work Group Manager to work within the Family Solutions Service.
The salary for this permanent Group Manager job is £48,000 - £62,861 per annum.
Duties:
Provide leadership and work across the service to deliver improved outcomes for children, young people and families across Medway
Engage key partners and stakeholders across Medway in delivering a range of targeted help, family support and effective interventions which build resilience, remove barriers and enable children and young people to look forward to a brighter future
Lead, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high-quality professional supervision and performance development plans are completed which enhance individuals personal and professional development needs and contribute towards staff retention
Deputise and support the Head of Service and cover for other Group Managers as and when required
Actively promote the Council's Fair Access, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and observe the standard of conduct that prevents discrimination from taking place
Manage his/her own time effectively working directly with a broad range of partner agencies and other departments in Children's Services using his/her own initiative to ensure procedures are followed and targets are met
Direct line management responsibility for 4 x Area Based Hub Managers, 2 x Practice Development Team Managers and 1 x Senior Administrator
Liaise with all stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation, including working with Police, YOT, Youth Service, Education services, Health, Schools and other professionals both within and outside of the team, young people and their families
Be responsible for the successful management of Medway Family Solutions provides early targeted intervention by working holistically with families with multiple and complex needs to enable them to make changes and improvements to their lives
Be responsible for the successful management of a delegated budget and delivering services in line with the agreed budget
Managing a team of staff working with high-risk young people and their families/carers and some of this work may involve conducting home visits where necessary and dealing with challenging behaviour
Requirements of the Group Manager:
Qualified Social Worker with post-qualifying training
Registered on Social Work England
Management experience
Fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 of the duty of Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder
Demonstrable post qualification experience of working with children and families
Proven experience in performance management
Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable children in a statutory setting
An understanding of Early Years (and School readiness agenda)
Demonstrable ability to build sound, productive working relationships with colleagues, partners and employees
Proven experience of successful budget management
Car driver and daily use of a car for business purposes
Enhanced DBS check
