Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Chelmsford for a General Practitioner.
The salary for this permanent General Practitioner job is £105,000 per annum.
Duties:
- Be a proactive member of the team whose skills will ensure safe, quality and value for money services are being provided in an efficient and systematic manner
- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of other dedicated and highly skilled healthcare professionals to care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice and actively improving the way we work
- Be a part of the pool of subject matter experts bringing together clinical and operational leads
- Be a part of quality improvements, research and development activity
- Maintaining the highest clinical standards at all times and in accordance with accepted good medical practice and the various clinical policies of the practice/centre.
- In accordance with the practice timetable as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties as expected from a GP including surgery consultations, telephone (or other) consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with evidence-based best clinical practice developing treatment and any associated care plans
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Requirements of the General Practitioner:
- Full and current unrestricted GMC (UK) registration on the GP Register
- MRCGP or working towards it
- Be on a Medical Performers’ List of a Primary Care Trust in England
- Hold current medical indemnity from a recognised medical defence organisation
- Excellent command of the English Language – both verbal and written
- GP Vocational or additional experience in general practice
- Commitment to professional development
- Knowledge of the NHS
- Understand the importance of evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness
- Understanding of clinical governance
- Ability to make good clear concise medical notes, both computerised and manual
- Experience of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to undertake responsibility
- Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
