Job Title: Substance Misuse Recovery Navigator
Location: North East London region (predominately covering Tower Hamlets and Hackney probation offices)
Type: Permanent

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our client's team as Recovery Navigators within the Dependency and Recovery Services. This role involves working within a hybrid model as part of a flexible, multi-disciplinary team, providing essential support to adult male prison leavers and those on community orders within the Probation services.

Role Overview:

As a Recovery Navigator, you will manage a diverse caseload, implementing action plans, and guiding individuals on their recovery journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing collaborative action plans.
  • Delivering structured one-to-one and group sessions, both in-person and virtually.
  • Maintaining accurate records throughout the recovery process.
  • Providing a range of support and interventions across varying complexity levels.
  • Enhancing access to treatment and additional support for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery: Perform risk and comprehensive assessments, maintain action plans, and complete session and end-of-service reports. Facilitate both one-to-one sessions and group work as per the action plan. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and signpost to relevant agencies.
  • Performance Management: Adhere to contractual service level agreements and key performance targets. Ensure all interventions meet the required standards and manage your caseload effectively.
  • Quality and Safety: Report safeguarding concerns promptly, maintain accurate service user records, and manage confidential information in compliance with statutory duties and policies.
  • Administration: Maintain case management documentation to audit standards, ensure data accuracy, and complete all necessary reports and referrals.
  • Systems and Policy: Utilise IT systems efficiently, follow agreed protocols with multi-disciplinary agencies, and stay updated with relevant legislation and best practices.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience in the criminal justice sector and substance misuse field. Demonstrable experience managing high caseloads and carrying out comprehensive assessments and action plans.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to set professional boundaries, and work effectively with key partners to deliver outcomes.
  • Personal Attributes: Proactive, resilient, adaptable, confident, and a team player open to feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 substance misuse-related qualification or relevant experience in a comparable role.
  • Any additional qualifications in advice & guidance, counselling, or PTTLLS are desirable.

Additional Information:

  • This is a predominately Monday - Friday, 09:00 am - 17:00 pm role, with some flexibility required for out-of-office work.
  • Attendance at head office for training may be necessary.
