Job Overview:

Sanctuary Personnel are currently seeking a Dental Nurse to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will assist their Consultants and Dental Officers in delivering exceptional dental care to patients, both within their department and in the community. The ideal candidate will hold the necessary qualifications, including the Registered Dental Surgery Nurse Certificate, and be either qualified or studying towards additional certifications such as Oral Health, Dental Radiography, Orthodontic Nursing, and Conscious Sedation. Registration on the National Registry for Dental Nurses is a prerequisite for this position.

Job Purpose:

Your primary responsibility will be to support our Consultants and Dental Officers in delivering top-tier dental care to our patients. This involves creating a professional, safe, and compassionate environment, both within our facility and in community settings.

Job Specific Outcomes:

  • Deliver high-quality dental nursing services, ensuring patient safety and minimal anxiety in accordance with professional codes of practice.
  • Maintain and sterilise all equipment and materials used during dental procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients of all ages, providing pre and post-operative care instructions as needed.
  • Conduct and process dental radiographs to aid in diagnosis.
  • Lead dental health clinics, providing tailored care and promoting oral health education.
  • Maintain patient records with the utmost confidentiality and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with other dental staff and medical professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Dental Nursing (NEBDN).
  • Registration on the National Registry for Dental Nurses.
  • GCSE qualifications in Maths and English (or equivalent) with proficient IT skills, including Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with departmental services and alignment with General Dental Council (GDC) processes.
  • Thorough understanding of dental diseases and sterile procedures.

Technical Work-Based Skills:

  • Proficiency in administration and information technology, including critical software applications.

General Skills/Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism.
