The salary for this permanent Children & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist job is £93,666 - £126,281 per annum.

Duties:

  • Prioritising quality
  • Promoting what is possible - independence, opportunity, and choice
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team, work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with community CYPMHS consultants
  • Take a lead on emergency Mental Health Act assessments of CAMHS cases
  • Have clinical responsibility for three planned crisis beds 
  • Work alongside another fulltime substantive consultant in the service and will share supervision requirements for the Specialty doctors in the service
  • Further develop links already established with the local acute trusts’ A&E departments and paediatric services, to continually improve our services
  • Be part of the Senior Psychiatrist out of hours on-call rota
  • Provide out of hours cover

Requirements of the Children & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist:

  • Progressive, innovative, and continually improving
  • Professional and honest
  • Be a suitably qualified Consultant Psychiatrist with Approved Clinician (AC) certification
  • Be a GMC registered clinician responsible for patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan, and deliver care
  • Have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies
  • Further professional knowledge will have been gained through accredited courses, workshops, study, and in-house training programmes
  • Be able to assess and develop care plans to meet the complex needs of patients with a variety of conditions
  • Be able to initiate referrals to other health professional specialist services and agencies
