Job Purpose

As an Advanced Physiotherapist, you'll operate as a highly autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, and treating a complex clinical caseload in the field of physiotherapy. Your role will involve providing specialised knowledge, training, and advice on cardio-respiratory conditions to clients, families, and fellow Healthcare Professionals. Additionally, you'll play a key part in integrating specialist physiotherapy across various care pathways, contributing to strategy and policy development in cardio-respiratory physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Statutory Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for complying with all statutory requirements relevant to the role, including those related to health and safety, data protection, and clinical governance. Additionally, as this role is politically restricted, you'll refrain from engaging in any political activities.

Qualifications

We're seeking candidates with a degree and/or diploma in Physiotherapy or a Chartered Society of Physiotherapy accredited Masters, along with membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council and the Jersey Care Commission is essential. You should have a minimum of five years of experience, including three years in a specialist area, along with additional post-graduate training in specialised knowledge and skills.

Knowledge

Your advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of cardio-respiratory physiotherapy will be crucial for this role, as you'll be applying it across various clinical settings. You should also have a broad understanding of rehabilitation techniques for cardio-respiratory health conditions and be familiar with clinical governance and quality improvement within healthcare settings.

Technical Work Based Skills

Your high-level assessment skills and expertise in physiotherapy treatment for cardio-respiratory conditions will be paramount. Additionally, you should possess leadership and motivational skills to optimise multidisciplinary treatment programmes and support continuous service evaluation and improvement.

General Skills / Attributes

Effective communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and engage patients in rehabilitation efforts. Experience in project-based service delivery, teaching, and training, as well as working within multidisciplinary teams, will be advantageous.

Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant post-qualification experience, with a focus on cardio-respiratory physiotherapy. Experience in healthcare quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and supervision will be highly valued.
