The role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 5 teacher to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and well-being of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Year 5 teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that align with the curriculum objectives.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support and intervention as needed.
  • Support students with their learning activities, offering guidance, encouragement, and assistance as appropriate.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building rapport and trust to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Help to maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, promoting positive behavior and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of teaching materials and resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Year 5 teacher and other members of the school staff to ensure the overall success of the class.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to students, teachers, and parents.
  • Strong behaviour management and experience
