Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Kinship Team to work Full Time based in Wandsworth.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £58,893per annum.

Main duties:

  • You will make a major contribution to the delivery of the vision and strategic priorities, by managing the delivery and performance of high-quality social work provision to children and their families across the team.
  • You need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of social work regulations, ensuring strict adherence to existing policies and practices.
  • You will provide effective team management and oversight while encouraging and delivering high-quality and reflective supervision.
  • You will contribute to maintaining our 'Good' rating from Ofsted for children's services, reflecting the high quality of care provided.
  • To manage a team of staff, including recruitment/retention, induction, training and development, performance management, disciplinary/capability, and succession planning.
  • To manage the delivery and performance of the team, to ensure that all casework is assessed, prioritised and actioned appropriately, to ensure that all children and their families receive a suitable response that meets their assessed needs.
  • To manage the allocation of workload across the team to agreed service priorities, actively monitor, review, and authorise case records and plans, addressing any workload management, performance, and/or quality issues as they arise.
  • To develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and professional networks, ensure a positive working relationship within the team, promoting strategies for collaboration and a supportive team culture.
  • To provide expert professional advice and support in relation to all case work, ensuring hat the team is fully compliant with the law, ensuring legal advice is taken and acted upon as required, representing the local authority and presenting case work evidence and information at court as required.
  • The profile is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties the post holder will carry out. Other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the post, including supporting emergency and priority situations, will form part of the role.

Requirements of this Team Manager role:

  • Having a Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of management within children’s social care services with specific knowledge and interest in Special Guardianship and connected persons.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and analytical skills as well as an ability to build relationships with practitioners, families and partners.
  • Enthusiasm and tenacity to lead, shape and develop a committed team of social workers.
