Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Work Team Manager to work full-time within an Adoption Team based in London. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Team Manager job is £42 per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • To lead and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of a team providing children's social care services to children, young people and their families.
  • To act as a key player in the within the service group contributing to the effective development of services which improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • To place children and their needs at the heart of what you do, and promote the effective engagement of children and young people in planning, delivering and improving services. Responsibilities.
  • Lead and motivate the staff reporting to you to perform effectively and contribute to delivering highly effective services for children, young people and their families.
  • Promote a child centred outcome focus through constructively and effectively challenging professional and managerial practice.
  • Provide high quality supervision to social workers and other practitioners that supports and enables them to meet or exceed the expected capabilities.
  • Maintain management oversight of children's journey through the service, taking action to ensure that the appropriate help and intervention is provided in a timely way.
  • Support social workers and other practitioners to reflect on their practice, learn and continuously improve their practice through modelling professional behaviour and addressing their continuing professional development needs.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
