Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to work full-time in Luton/Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is £30,000 per annum.
Duties:
- Participate in carer training activities and review use of knowledge attained by carers during supervision.
- Participate in recruitment events as agreed in work plan.
- Participate in staff meetings unless there is a valid reason for being elsewhere.
- Engage with training and professional development activities as in PDP
- Act in line with the agency policies on Whistle Blowing, Equal Opportunities, Anti-discriminatory practice and Confidentiality at all times.
- Support the learning of social work students on placement
Requirements of the Supervising Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Working in partnership within and outside the organisation to promote stability of foster placements.
- Able to communicate in writing and verbally in English to a high standard.
- Computer skills including the word processing and e-mail at a good level.
- Office administration and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the looked after children system in the UK.
- 3 years' experience holding a substantial caseload, remaining organised with clear prioritisation.
- Form F assessment experience.
- Risk assessment experience.
- Stabilised difficult children and family situations experience.
- Full drivers license.
