Sanctuary Personnel, an award-winning and renowned Recruitment Agency is looking for an experienced and dedicated Substance Misuse Trainer/Assessor to work based in Hull.

The salary for this permanent Trainer/Assessor job is £19,706 - £23,818 per annum.

Duties:

  • Support the development and delivery of a high quality accredited programme of training
  • Deliver a high-quality training provision in substance misuse or Adult Care
  • Deliver training on a range of levels from Level 1 to Level 3 and bespoke
  • Deliver training to internal and external learners face to face and virtually
  • Assist the development new training programmes and learning resources and continually evaluate any current resources
  • Assess the workbooks and assessments to ensure they meet the appropriate standard
  • Carry out progress reviews and assessment
  • Plan the assessment process for learners – observe/record assessment and complete all relevant documentation
  • Identify and adapt to differing learning styles with use of group and 121 formats and a variety of training materials and interactive resources
  • Positively influence and motivate learners in order to enable them to meet and exceed their potential and support learners to identify opportunities for a positive outcome, via further accredited learning, employment or an adult apprenticeship
  • Working with other team members to continually evaluate the training programmes offered, working to improve as and where necessary based on regular Employer, Stakeholder and Learner feedback
  • Assist in the review of training materials
  • Meet all necessary requirements of awarding bodies for accredited provision and carry out internal verification and assessments were appropriate, ensuring all documentation is completed and retained according to quality standards
  • Assist in the accurate completion of documentation and preparing relevant information for internal/external audits
  • Complete all administration in line with the learner’s journey as required
  • Represent the Alcohol & Drug Service both internally and externally where authorised to do so
  • Ensure that all customers internally and externally receive an excellent customer service experience
  • Ensure that the agency Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Prepare and deliver programmes of training for other members of staff, internal and external customers and service users
  • Provide an effective learning environment for all learners
  • Assist in the development of new initiatives and new ways of working to promote the best services for substance users
  • Contribute to the effective performance of all learners, through effective coaching and mentoring
  • Ensure the service is highly regarded by internal and external clients
  • Professional decisions in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, and the organisations policies and practices
  • Adopt a flexible, creative and innovative approach

Requirements of the Trainer/Assessor:

  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent e.g. PTTLS
  • Level 3 in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement or equivalent
  • Be aware of the need for security and regard to locking windows, doors etc. and prompt reporting of any works/repairs to the facilities department
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths or English
  • Relevant experience in the substance misuse field
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse or equivalent
  • Experience of delivering accredited courses
  • Knowledge of Equality and Diversity

  • Conscientious and reliable
  • Ability to travel effectively and in a timely manner
