Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Featherstone for a Substance Misuse Recovery Nurse to work 37.5 hours per week.

The salary for this permanent Recovery Nurse job is £24,000 - £29,000 annum.

Duties:

  • Provide nursing care for patients accessing specialist substance misuse services in HMPs to include treatment, harm reduction, BBV testing, screening and patient education
  • Behave at all times in a way that is consistent with and actively supports the organisations values
  • Ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients under your management and support other members of the team to do likewise
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care
  • Provide nursing treatment to patients in participation with Delphi Clinicians or independently agreed protocols
  • Undertake full clinical assessments and manage the health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care in conjunction with Delphi Medical Clinicians, Healthcare and other departments such as Mental Health, Gym and security
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with substance misuse issues
  • Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate)
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug- and nondrug-based treatment methods into a recovery plan via a regular audit cycle
  • Manage the Controlled Drugs process in line with the Standard Operating Procedure for Controlled Drugs

Requirements of the Recovery Nurse:

  • Degree level or working towards
  • Diploma level or equivalent
  • Mentorship Qualification
  • UK Registered Nurse
  • Active NMC Registration
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • RCGP level 1 or willingness to work towards qualification
  • IT systems skills including ability to use SystmOne and/or electronic clinical recording system
  • Experience and understanding of working in a custodial setting and knowledge of substance misuse
  • Understanding of the roles, values, procedures and standards of working in a prison environment
  • Evidence of experience in embracing and implementing change to provide high quality health outcome
  • Experience in dispensing and administration of controlled drugs
  • Post registration experience in substance misuse or working in healthcare within a prison setting
  • Experience and knowledge of ordering and maintaining controlled drug stock
