Sanctuary Criminal Justice is currently looking for a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant to work full-time based in Walsall. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of substance misuse.

The pay rate for this locum Substance Healthcare Assistant job is £10.50 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Reducing drug related harm to the individual and the wider community
  • Promoting healthier lifestyles and increasing service user choice
  • Ensuring BBV screening and vaccinations are comprehensively delivered
  • Promoting and supporting individuals into both abstinences based and medically assisted forms of recovery
  • Promoting carer and service user involvement
  • Undertake basic healthcare assessments and record in electronic and paper-based case notes as required. Report outcomes to Senior / Health and Wellbeing Nurses and/or Lead Clinician
  • Initiate, complete and follow up on referrals to specialist care and report outcomes to Senior / Health and Wellbeing Nurses and/or Lead Clinicia
  • Screen for blood borne viruses and contribute to integrated care planning to assure effective referrals to Hepatology and GUM services to enable assessment for specialist treatment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar Substance Misuse role
  • Experience with substance misuse clients.
