Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in the City of London, within the UASC. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £30 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties of the Social Worker:
- Carrying out independent age assessments of child's social and cultural needs
- Arranging medical and psychological assessments and observations
- Ensuring child protection procedures are being adhered to
- Advocating on behalf of the service user
- Assessing young people if they appear in need of care services under section 47 of the care act
- Arranging safe, age appropriate accommodation
- Offering support for refugee families including focus on child welfare
- Addressing child poverty when families are living in poor quality housing and have insufficient means of support
- Carrying out assessments and arranging access to appropriate services for children and young people who have been trafficked
- Organising access to age appropriate training, education and leisure services
- Transitioning young people from Children's to Adults Services
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
