Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Lewisham, London as a Safeguarding Adults Manager. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in adults' services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £33.00 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties of the Social Worker/Safeguarding Adults Manager:

  • Manage 5 Social Workers

  • Act as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) in several safeguarding enquiries

  • Quality checking all assessments including Care Act assessments and mental capacity/best interests

  • Formal and informal supervision including accurate record keeping and adhering to policies (supervision, performance & sickness/ill-health)

  • Training and development, complaint handling, chairing meetings such as best interest etc

  • Complex case work, multi-disciplinary working

  • Allocation management and workload training


Requirements of the Social Worker/Safeguarding Adults Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current HCPC registration

  • Previous management experience within adult safeguarding

  • Must have excellent knowledge of the mental care act and safeguarding
