Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Slough in a Front Door Assessment Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £35 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
About the Job:
- The Front Door is the first port of call for all initial enquiries from anyone concerned about a child or for any emergencies. The Hub serves as the Multi-Agency Support Hub, traditionally what is called a referral and assessment team.
- This is where the referrals and key decisions take place.
- The Hub works with both the children and families with 'early' needs and, in doing so, helps prevent escalation to more in-depth social care involvement.
Duties:
- Responsible for undertaking social work on allocated cases producing outcome-based plans, having regard to the needs of, and risks to, children and their families.
- To develop effective relationships with children, young people and their families to improve impact of work and determine the level of service available ensuring written plans are agreed with the CYP and their families and reflect their views.
- To determine, using evidence based practice how these needs will be met subject to resources, statutory responsibilities, within the framework of council policies and procedures.
- To be responsible for effective Individual performance in line with national standards and performance indicators, including receiving regular supervision.
- To maintain, monitor and review accurate records of all work undertaken ensuring recording information is accurate and up to date, including comprehensive use of the Integrated Children's System.
- To work effectively move casework to other areas of service as appropriate with a clear transfer plan.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
