Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Blackpool, within the Fostering Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £30,507 - £37,849 per annum.
Duties:
- Attracting and recruiting foster carers to Blackpool
- Assessing prospective candidates' suitability to become approved foster carers in line with national minimum standards
- Delivering skills to foster training and preparing carers for their fostering career
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Understanding and knowledge of the national minimum standards for fostering and the key requirements for foster carers
- Good communication skills and the ability to write accurate, analytical assessments and reports within set timescales are key
- A strong understanding of the specific needs of looked after children and how these can be met within a family placement
- Alongside recruitment tasks, successful applicants will plan and carry out fostering assessments, in addition to working with foster carers and/or children in care
- Ensuring foster carers are provided with and access adequate support, information and advice, to provide consistent, high-quality care for a child or young person placed in their home
