Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work either full-time or part-time within a Fostering Support Team based in Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £37 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Summary:
- The Role will involve supervising and supporting registered foster carers to meet fostering national minimum standards and regulations. This will include supporting children place with foster carers as per fostering regulations and care planning legislation.
Main Duties:
- Manage an allocated workload of approved carers and carer assessments according to Directorate priorities. Re- assessing foster carers, including compiling complex assessment reports to present to the fostering panel. Preparing rep[orts for foster carer reviews.
- Supervise and supporting foster carers and their families.
- Ensure high quality foster care is available that meets the specific needs of children looked after and that all the standards and regulations are met.
- Be involved in running support local groups.
- Workers may be required to engage in joint training initiatives and undertake work originating outside the area if this is necessary to ensure equitable distribution of work, and in the interests of efficient and effective service delivery.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- At least 2 years' experience in statutory children's social work
- Must be a car driver
