Position: Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team

Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands

Salary: £44,816 - £56,324 per annum (depending on experience)

Relocation Benefits:

About the Role:

As a Social Worker, you'll be instrumental in delivering vital services to vulnerable children, young people, and families in need. Working under the guidance of a Team Manager, you'll be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in social work practice. Your role will encompass various domains, including Assessment & Intervention, Family Support & Protection, Children in Care & Leaving Care, and Fostering & Adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and review support for individuals with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with professionals to empower families and facilitate positive change.
  • Safeguard children from harm through effective interventions.
  • Foster autonomy and development in individuals with social needs.
  • Maintain meticulous records and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Evaluate suitability of foster carers, kinship carers, and adopters.
  • Mentor social work students and newly qualified professionals.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registration with a recognised Social Work body (e.g., Social Work England, SSSC, Social Care Wales, NISCC).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in adhering to professional standards.
  • Competence in case recording and IT utilisation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across operational areas.
